Nose Reshaping (Rhinoplasty)
One of the most common plastic surgery procedures, rhinoplasty is performed to reshape the nose by reducing or augmenting it, removing a hump, refining tip, narrowing nostrils or changing the angle between the nose and the upper lip. It can also be performed to correct functional deformities ie. To correct injury, birth defects, or problems that affect breathing.
Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure and usually performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Sabry uses the "open" approach where scars are placed inside the nostrils and hidden on the underside of the base. The skin is lifted, the bones cut and cartilages sculpted by adding or removing, and the skin redraped and stitched closed. A splint will be placed outside if bone work is done and inside the nose if septum is corrected to provide support.
For a short time after surgery you may experience puffiness around the nose and eyes, nose ache or a dull headache. Some bruising, bleeding or stuffiness is also common. Most patients feel like themselves within two days and return to work in about a week or two. Contact lenses can be worn immediately but glasses will have to be taped to your forehead or propped on your cheeks for up to seven weeks.
Complications are rare and, when they occur, minor. These may include infection, nosebleed, or a reaction to the anesthesia.

Ear Reshaping (Otoplasty)
Prominent ears are congenital in nature. The ears are set apart from head and may even be disproportionate in size and shape. For school age children and young adults, this is often a significant psychosocial problem as it subjects then to peer ridicule. Otoplasty is designed to set the ears back after creating the folds and rotating the ears, thereby normalizing the appearance.
Incisions are made each ear where permanent sutures are used to create the ear folds and are buried under the skin. Occasionally a reduction in size may be necessary. Skin incisions are closed with dissolving stitches and do not require removal. Dr. Sabry prefers to perform the surgery earliest between 6 to 7 years of age, because of timing of ear cartilage maturity. The surgery is performed in an outpatient setting and may require 2 to 3 hours.
A compressive head wrap is applied and maintained for 7 days. Once removed, patients are advised to wear a headband for 6 to 8 weeks.
Temporary throbbing, aching, swelling and numbness are to be expected and may subside within 2 weeks. Most patients are able to return to school or work in 7 to 10 days.
Necklift
The effect of age and gravity results in a loss and sagging skin and fat deposits around both necks and jowls. A necklift is designed to restore the definition of your face and jawline to create a youthful look.
The surgery is performed through a small incision under the chin where fat is sculpted and muscles tightened. For more severe deformities, liposuction combined with skin excision and tightening behind the ears may be necessary. Most patients may be candidates to have the procedure done using local anesthesia with sedation. The surgery may take between 2 to 3 hours.
Most swelling, bruising and discomfort may subside within the first two weeks and patients are then able to return to work. Most physical activities may be resumed after 4 weeks.
