A Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Zakir Sabry is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon now specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of face, breast and body. His commitment to excellence is derived from his extensive academic training, strong sense of patient care and a passion for restoring form and function.
After earning his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1993, he began his post-doctoral training with an internship and residency in general surgery at Saint Vincent's Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan. This was followed by a second residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the prestigious Medical College of Virginia/ VCU, and culminated in a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at Barnes Hospital/ St. Louis Children's Hospital- Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO.
Dr. Sabry started his career in academia. As a faculty member at Saint Louis University, he trained plastic surgery residents and held the distinguished position of Section Chief of Plastic Surgery and Director of the Cleft and Craniofacial Deformities Institute at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital/ Saint Louis University Hospital until relocating to New York in June of 2004.
Dr. Sabry is a member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association, American Bariatric Plastic Surgery Society and New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons among others. He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and delivered abstracts and presentations at plastic surgery meetings on facial reconstructive surgery techniques.
Dr. Sabry is a “Top Doctor” in Metro Area, listed in Castle Connolly. He is an active member of surgical staff at Lenox Hill Hospital and Saint Vincents Hospital in New York City and New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Medical College of Virginia.
His focus is achieving most natural and beautiful results by combining his extensive surgical skills, masterful planning and strong desire to meet individual’s expectation. Hence, every surgery is tailored to individual patient to bring about the most aesthetically pleasing outcome.
Helping underprivileged children has always been a driving force of Dr. Sabry's career. His active charities are “Operation Kids” in Virginia and “Little Baby Face Foundation” in New York, organizations dedicated to bring smiles to children with congenital deformities both here at home and abroad.
